Hello, My laptop is glitching whilst streaming video under power - it is fine on battery.

--

The laptop is only 3 months old but I'm disappointed with poor performance (for an i5 8Gb) whilst doing something as basic as streaming video (either Zoom or TV catchup) when my 10 year old i3 Dell handled this fine! But it is only happening when plugged in.

--

I've noticed on Task Manager that, whilst plugged in, the GPU 3D (Intel UHD Graphics) keeps peaking every 4-5 secs or so (I couldn't attach screenshots) which then causes the video to stutter and causes a horrid sound crackle. As mentioned it only happens when plugged in - in fact upon doing so, it sounds as though the notebook is spooling up for greater performance as the fan kicks in etc (even though I believe I have everything set the same for battery op or power op). I don't mind any of this so long as it performs, yet it is worse than when it was performing fine, beforehand, on battery! Unplugging results in a probably one more peaks and then stable regardless of how many things I have open or what level of video I am streaming.

Any help would be appreciated but I am not overly technical with laptop architecture so words of one syllable would be appreciated 😉

Thanks in advance.

The system has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz with 8Gb of RAM and 4Gb in with Intel UHD Graphics (not sure if it is shared - I'm not that technical). It is running the latest BIOS (previously passed by HP in an earlier attempt to overcome this) and driver 26.20.100.7926
