Product: HP ENVY Photo 6230 All-in-One Printer

My printer will not print and has a warning sign 'remove & reinstall the indicated cartridge' - I have tried taking both cartridges out and have cleaned them and put them back in. It shows that the black one is also out of ink but I am not sure that this is correct. Surely also HP should send me a new cartridge automatically?
