Hello Everyone,

  I have a small HP I find convenient for word processing.  I tried to disable the Updates and clicked "disable" but immediately after trying to restart,  the Updates started.  Now after shutting down and powering up again, the first thing that happens are the Updates running madly onward before I even enter a pass to open the system.  Is there a way to take over use of my computer (Ha ha) and not be forced into an Update, which I don't need for my purposes?  Thanks.
