I just brought my laptop HP Pavilion Gaming 15 ec0001ax on Juny 2020 and got HP BIOS Update version F.08 on 03-August-2020. Now whenever I play games on my laptop, after around 20-30 minutes the fan suddenly loud and the laptop HIBERNATE/SHUTDOWN BY ITSELF.
I think I may have pinpointed it to the "boost" feature on the CPU which allows it to overclock from 2.1Ghz to 3.7Ghz, however the issue is intermittent -- sometimes it will sit at 3.68Ghz for hours without issue, sometimes as soon as it increases, the system hibernate/shutdown. I have been watching it like a hawk while playing, and sometimes it will shut the system down within 20-30 minutes, other times I can play for 8 hours without a problem.
I cannot change anything about the boost settings -- not the peak allowed, not the multiplier, nothing. These settings are unavailable to the user, either in the control panel or through BIOS menu.
BEFORE THE BIOS UPDATE (exactly on F.05), I DON'T GET THIS ISSUE AT ALL.
My specs :
HP Pavilion 15 ec0001ax
AMD Ryzen 5 3550H processor with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 3GB memory
16GB DDR4 2400 system RAM
Windoes 10 64 Bit v1909
*note : When I am not gaming, it's cannot hibernate/shutdown itself. It'js just happen when i'm gaming only
Got any solution?
