Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have just bought an Envy 15 x360 Ryzen 4700u Laptop (15-ee0504na). I'm currently driving two QHD (1440p) screens from this laptop, one via displayport over USB and one via the HDMI port on the laptop. This works fine, but I would ideally like to move to a single socket solution over USB C.

I have done some research and it seems that docking station compatibility is a bit of a minefield with these laptops and that there is no recommended HP solution for driving multiple monitors and providing power delivery. I do note the following specifications on my USB-C port which seem to suggest single port docking should be possible:

  • Displayport 1.4 (should be capable of 2x 4k monitors at 60hz, I believe this means the USB C does support Displayport Alt mode)
  • 10gb/s data transfer
  • 100w Power delivery

I had a look at the solutions on offer and it looks to me like the Hp Dock G5 should be compatible as its is one of the few docks around that supports Displayport 1.4. Despite this, the internet is full of confusing and often contradictory info over whether this will work with the laptop. Would anyone be able to advise if this would work or if my requirements are event possible?

Thanks for your help!
