Power 15 (cb-054tx)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've been using this laptop for over an year now, the only upgrade i made is i added an M.2 SSD and the laptop was working all great until recently.

The laptop's (power 15 cb-054tx) battery started to work all weird and thought it was a battery calibration issue which is quite common. And I opened the laptop to re-calibrate the laptop's battery which is when i realised what was really happening to the battery.

The battery was all swollen up like this -

Since the battery has 4 individual cells i ripped the cover open to see what was really wrong -

Looking at it its obvious this is not normal at all!!
I've worked on laptops and desktops since i was a kid and I really have some idea of how the battery is supposed to be looking after 2 years of use.
A battery getting weak after charge cycles shouldn't be getting swollen like its about to explode any minute, which can cause an explosion and fire!

This is super dangerous, even the HP guy reading this can agree to that! And some quick surfing i realized this is a common issue for the SR04XL battery, which is a blame the manufacturer should be in account of, come to think of it, this is as dangerous as having a grenade in your back pack.

Saddest part is even tho this is a common issue for the SR04XL battery the user's have to pay their own money to get this battery replaced and there are cases of the battery getting swollen again.

Where did the consumers go wrong? Choosing HP over other products?
Please do consider this a serious issue and try to find a permanent solution or at least take the honor to accept the defective nature of the batteries and let the customer know what the issue is and how to fix it instead of throwing it all on the customer. Pretty sure this is not a common issue since literally many users have reported the same effect with the SR04XL battery module.

Kindly make sure your are doing it right while other competitors have even better offering in the same price segment that is not a potential hazard in the backpack.

Thanks and not going to mark the issue solved until something is actually done instead of sending me a private message and trying to suppress the seriousness of the issue.

I hope those who faced this issue speak up and let people know that the product is defective and need to stay away and the brand does something about it, let's hope the "butterfly" effect of a very well-known brand doesn't happen here that the respective company took years to fix and blamed the customers and charged them for it as if the customers were destroying their own keyboards, i hope people get what i meant by butterfly here.

Immediate and convincing fix expected from the side of the manufacturer!
I like how everyone's battery started to swell only after the warranty period expired and not before that and some were even suggested to get a newer laptop instead of fixing the same laptop! Maybe i think a lot, oops!
