Hi all,

I know nothing about PC's I tried to boot up the computer and got the blue screen of death (bad config) I've been on all sorts of sites and I found this advice...

 

A black box will appear. This is your command prompt window.

 

►Type the following command:

 

 bootrec /scanos Then press enter

 bootrec /rebuildbcd Then press enter

 bootrec /fixmbr Then press enter

 bootrec /fixboot Then press enter

 

I did it all and the first 3 commands say operation completed successfully. However the last command states access is denied.

 

Any ideas what else I can do to fix it?

It won't repair or reset or restore. I can't log in to get all the kids photos off it, so I dont want to do a factory reset if it can be helped.

 

Like I say i don't pretend to know anything so I hope this makes sense.

Any advise is appreciated
