I purchased my HP Envy a two-ish years ago and so far really like the performance. I'm a student so this was a big purchase for me. Obviously since the beginning of COVID, I've been stuck at home doing school, so my laptop rarely (if ever) leaves my desk. I recently opened up the laptop and noticed a clicking noise, and saw that the screen was detaching from the shell at the bottom right hand side. After some research online, I've found that this is a common problem because of a manufacturing defect in the hinge design. I'm obviously upset about this, and nervous that my computer will fail at any moment. Most people have said that HP requires you to get it fixed independently, which is costly. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and what the best/ most cost efficient way to solve the issue is.
