I have an HP Envy 13" laptop, approx. 9 months old, where the hinges started to feel strange after a while. Eventually i could not open it at all and i send it in to HP (handled by Elcare Nordic here in Sweden) to get it fixed under warranty.
Now they want me to pay $350 for a full screen replacement as the screen 'is broken'.
My impression is that any problem with the screen was caused by badly designed hinges on this machine. Paying $350 is not an option considering the value of the laptop forcing me to to get a new non-HP laptop instead.
Anybody with some references to documented issues with the hinges on this model? Or is it just me?
