I own a HP Omen laptop (15-dc0507na) that as of this morning stopped working, with only the CAPS LOCK - 5 long 3 short error appearing.
After doing some research, I tried removing the battery (discharging it by pressing the power button afterwards), reseating the RAM and then attempting to try and flash the bios, but despite trying a number of button combinations ( Windows key and B, Windows key and V, just B, just V) nothing has been successful.
Last night, absentmindedly and without looking, I plugged the lighting cable (iPhone end) into the Digital DVI slot and thought nothing more about it. Could this be what has caused the fault - shorting out the mainboard?
I’m baffled as what to do next and aside from buying a new mainboard, does anyone else here have ideas that might be worth trying?
