Did I make a mistake buying a laptop with this wifi card?  What I found when I first got the laptop is that it would either not find or would not stay on 5ghz wifi when using channels above 44.   But that was fine because I could set the channel in my router for 5ghz wifi and then it was fine.

However recently I installed a Google Nest mesh wifi to improve reception away from the router ... and that product does NOT let users choose the channel for the 5ghz wifi - so it offers devices much higher bands than 44.  I think perhaps as a result I find the RTL8822EE is sometimes randomly dropping back to 2.4ghz ... even when I am sitting right next to the Nest wifi point.  It's quite aggravating as all my other devices in the house (2 other HP Windows computers ... a Surface Go ... smart TV ... fire stick ... iphones and android phones) have no problems connecting wifi on 5ghz ...only  this new HP laptop is the one that struggles with 5ghz using Google Nest wifi points and drops back to 2.4ghz.   Is there an option to open up the laptop and replacing the Realtek card in favour of a rock-solid Intel wifi card (I don't like to do this for a laptop still under warranty)?

Otherwise what are the chances the problem can be fixed by changing Window driver settings or a new driver in the future improving the behaviour of the card?

I have all latest Windows 11 updates installed (as well as running HP Support Assistant to ensure all drivers are the latest officially recognised).
