I have an OfficeJet Pro 7740. When I first add the printer to my computer, all its features are available. However, after a modest amount of time, the next time I print, key features like color and duplex printing have disappeared. The only way I can solve this is to remove the printer than add it back. I am having to do that a lot, which is annoying.

 

How can I assure that my computer does not forget my printer's features?

 

This is a clean install of Windows 11, not an upgraded one. It is fully patched and up to date. It is clean.

Here's how the document properties look when the features are present. Note the option for duplexing:

This is what I see after Windows has forgotten about the printer's features. The duplexing features disappeared:
