Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-In-One printer.

I never had trouble with my printer until after a move. When I plugged my printer back in and re-established the new Wi-Fi connection, my printer wouldn't work again. The status of the printer says, "Offline", even though the blue light on the printer which indicates the connection status stays stable. When I go into settings from the printer itself, it says there is a good internet connection. Our Wi-Fi works fine on all of our other devices.

I went into the HP software program for my printer. I clicked "Connect Printer To The Web". I got a blank screen and a notification saying, "Script Error: An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 125

Char: 90

Error: Syntax error

Code: 0

URL: https://www.hp.com/us-en/home.html

Do you ant to continue running script on this page? Yes/No."

I clicked "Yes", which brought me to the HP home page.

HP Virtual Assistant was NOT helpful. I tried many avenues with it.

The closest I got was downloading and running the program HP Print and Scan Doctor. It seemed to be running just fine, and was able to detect that there was a connection issue. The program informed me that it had downloaded some software fixes, and prompted me to save and close all my programs, then restart my computer. I did so, but when I logged back on, the Print and Scan Doctor program had somehow been uninstalled. I re-installed the program and ran it again. I got a notification that the program could not run because of a "post error".

HP programs and devices are the only programs and devices that are not running and functioning properly.

I tried re-installing the HP printer software on my computer. That did not work either, though at one time I did accidently shut off my PC too soon. After restarting my computer and clicking "Yes, I understand that I should not shut off my PC while programs are still running," the printer started working again for the first time! Luckily I had deleted previous print jobs, so it only printed two documents.

Because I thought my printer was working again, I bought new ink. After installing it and letting the printer register and realign, it didn't work anymore. I got similar messages of it being offline again.

Please help! Thank you.
