Product: HP Pavilion Gaming 17-cd1000 Laptop PC (8WW20AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Main problem: the number keypad (on the right) sometimes fails to operate, so I press the Num Lock key which sometimes overcomes the problem (I'd prefer the number keypad to remain operational permanently if possible).
However, today I had to press the Num Lock key several times before the keypad began to function.
It would also help if the Num Lock key had an illuminating lamp to indicate it is selected, but that's a design shortcoming.

 

Secondly, the keyboard illuminates whenever a key (or the touchpad) is pressed, but does not remain illuminated.  I should prefer this to remain lit permanently, or at least to be switchable, but I believe that this is another design shortcoming.

 

Any help to overcome either of these problems (if any are possible) would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.
