I am looking to purchase an HP all in one desktop. The two models I am looking at both have HDMI-in ports (as well as HDMI-out ports.
I will use the desktop most of the time but I have another laptop supplied for a job I do a couple of days a week. I need to be able to hook this laptop up to the larger display of the all in one.
Whenever I ask salespeople about this they say you cannot use it in this way, and there are contradictory opinions in the internet.
What is the right answer? I don’t want to fork out a lot of money only to find it doesn’t work the way I need it to. If the HDMI-in port doesn’t receive display why is it there? (Other manufacturers like ASUS clearly state that their ports do make it possible for other devices to be connected to their all in ones.)
Thanks everyone.
