HP Recommended

I could not get the HP app to start so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall from the MS Store. It will not download. Is the problem with MS Store or HP? It looks like the Smart app is a problem for a lot of people from what I can see from a quick Google search. As it stands my printer is completely useless right now and I need to use it. Why can't I just install a driver and use the printer locally without having to be online?
