My HP 9010 Printer Fails when I attempt to fax directly from the computer using the Print Fax function on windows 10. I receive the error "Failed - Recipient connection lost" every time. The fax function attempts a connection, shows "dialing", shows "connecting", you hear the schrill high pitched sound as it attempts to connect, but in a few seconds, it shows the above failure.
However, two bizarre facts about this:
1. When I send to any other fax number using the exact same technique, it is successful. But there is nothing wrong with that number, it's used day in and day out by many people successfully and it's been checked and double-checked.
2. When I print the fax, place it on the flatbed of the printer, and fax manually to the very same number using the printer control panel instead of using the windows fax function to do it directly, it works perfectly.
I can't imagine what the problem is.
