Hi All,
I have a 2022 model HP Omen 16 with the Ryzen 7 6800H and the Nvidia RTX 3070ti.
I'm trying to connect two 1080p 165hz monitors via the two USB-C connections on the back of the laptop. These USB-C ports are advertised as having displayport. I'm using a USB-C to Displayport cable for both. While I do get picture and no issues I noticed that the monitors are only using the integrated AMD graphics not the discreet 3070ti. Are these USB-C not connected in any way to the Nvidia graphics? I even turned on the MUX switch and for some reason they are still using the AMD graphics card.
This wouldn't be an issue but when playing any games while having these connected after a few minutes the frames drop to ~5 and the whole computer starts to slow and freeze up (even after exiting the game). The fans also ramp up to full. The only way to fix the slow down is to restart.
Before anyone asks... Windows is up to date, all drivers are up to date, tried activating the ALT mode for the USB-C in the bios, HP Driver support is indicating everything including the BIOS and Firmware are all up to date.
Thanks!
