Read that HP log In isn't required to Print or scan on another thread.  I wanted to add to that thread but disappeared after I was required to log in to type.   
I strongly disagree!  At times the only way I can use HP “ SMART” is by logging in.  This software has become more quirky in that I must unplug or log in to use it.    I used my printer for over a year without this.  Then it went “offline”. It stayed offline until I was forced to create this intrusive account.   Very inconvenient and time consuming delays are now typical when using this “ envy PRO”.   Worst printer scanner I’ve ever used or owned!
