Got the new 12th gen latest everything, last summer August 2022. It would over heat, have fans running on full blast but then got worse over the next few months. Opened a case finally in Dec 22. by Jan 23, the battery would stop charging & then before i could backup, it totally died. HP support in contact regularly in parallel.
despite best efforts, it got collected on 15 Feb 22. HP did not know DPD driver was sick or what time due in. 2 weeks after, i still heard back nothing except having received my laptop. Extremely frustrating & painful calls to HP for hours followed almost daily or weekly. Nobody knows whats happening. 2 more weeks go by. Only 1 email saying parts issue, delays, now April 23 estimated to have the device back. but no mention of what is wrong or why! HP support is a joke. NEVER called back, emailed back, knew anything, or helped despite fake promises and apologies, more like punctuation. whatapp chat - 4 hours to reply at best. call back doesn't work. the repair team will have a piece of paper with the machine telling you what happened and all the repair info when you get it back. After legal threats, and waiting for 4-5 weeks and refusing to wait another 4 weeks, randomly my device just shows up by courier 2 weeks ago. Repaired. New battery and new Motherboard on a brand new laptop. but no detail as to why? what happened? deeply concerning.asked HP support on call - but useless at best. couldnt even explain the bitlocker key it was asking now properly so google search & you tube, few hours later, i was in. But i am getting bit locker key request every other day, 6th time now in 2 weeks. I had to buy another laptop whilst this was being repaired, so i keep using that, than deal with this OMEN. even now, its locked. it could be issues with bios or lots of reasons i read on google. certainly, the device has barely been used, not left my desk. so what threat? something is not right again. i am none the wiser as to what went wrong. i am exhausted with this machine and contacting HP support, the very thought of it puts me off. I just want me money back so i can go get another device and not have to deal with it again. this is painful n hours and hours lost! i cant even find how to open a support case. the automated assistant - nightmare, call - oh its friday or weekend or usual crap, i cant even report it. now what? got the extended cover but i just want me life back!
