HP Envy x360
For the last couple of months, my laptop will be on and the screen will randomly go black. No mouse, no keys, nothing. The caps lock will blink 1-long, 1-long, 2-short. I have to hard kill it and restart it. Thus far, it has always restarted.
This has happened after shutting the lid and putting it to sleep. It has happened after turning it on and not logging in right away.
Once on and immediately used, it seems to be fine.
I took it to a repair shop and told nothing was wrong with it. Was told maybe it was a bad Windows Update. He claimed sleep was probably the culprit and turned it off. (Of course, the issue wouldn't happen while it's there!)
Now it happened again today after turning it on and not logging in right away.
Google suggests a BIOS corruption, but the repair guy said it would not turn on if it was BIOS. Got the old "a laptop of this age" speech.
Any ideas? Any ideas of what to look for?
Thanks!
