I have an HP Envy Laptop product #53726AV. I purchased an HP Universal USB-C Multiport Hub so that I could have the larger monitor screen and keyboard at my desk. The input to my monitor is with a VGA cable. I have a VGA to DisplayPort adaptor cable for the connection to the Multiport Hub. Also, I am using the two USB ports on the Multiport Hub for my mouse and keyboard. The Multiport Hub is connected to my HP Envy laptop using the supplied USB-C cable. I have the USB-C cable from the Multiport Hub plugged in to the laptop using one of the two USB-C ports on my Envy laptop which are identified as "Thunderbolt4 USB4 type-C with USB Power Delivery, Display Port 1.4, and HP Sleep and Charge".
When I wake my HP laptop from sleep, my larger monitor sometimes comes to life but more often than not it will not receive a signal from the laptop/multiport hub. My keyboard and mouse always come to life, but not always the monitor. Is there something that I needed to do in order to have this set up properly?
