My laptop has 2 disks:
1 512GB for Windows 11;
2 on 1TV for Kubuntu (Linux)
I’ll start right away with the answer to “Why did I allocate 1TB for Linux?” It’s simple, I want to calmly play a lot of games and stream them, but I work on Windows + play CSGO Facet, which is not available on Linux. “Why don’t I just want to allocate the entire 1.5TB to Windows?” - I'll just send the link - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Victus-by-HP-Laptop-16-e0xxx-R... m-p/8870477#M720713
I hope you understand.
And so, to the point: When I started playing an overly demanding game on Linux, I noticed that the laptop was running quietly (but hot), that is, the cooler fans did not work at maximum speed, as would be possible on Windows through OMEN GAMING HUB, I looked for all sorts of options to enable maximum fan speed on Linux (and found this: lm-sensors)
What I did in the terminal:
$ sudo apt install lm-sensors
$sudo sensors-detect
$ sudo apt install fancontrol
$sudo pwmconfig
It was after entering "sudo pwmconfig" that I got the text after entering this command:
"This program will search your sensors for pulse width modulation (pwm)
controls, and test each one to see if it controls a fan on
your motherboard. Note that many motherboards do not have pwm
circuitry installed, even if your sensor chip supports pwm.
We will attempt to briefly stop each fan using the pwm controls.
The program will attempt to restore each fan to full speed
after testing. However, it is ** very important ** that you
physically verify that the fans have been to full speed
after the program has completed.
/usr/sbin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed"
that is, my laptop does not have PWM fans or does not support hardware PWM control, I will not be able to configure automatic fan speed control using fancontrol or similar utilities. (The last option is BIOS/UEFI settings), but I don’t have fan settings there either.
I want to know if there is even an alternative to Windows="OMEN GAMING HUB" for Linux? If not, why don't they make it for Linux?
I want to know some options about this, I may have made a mistake somewhere or something, I would appreciate your help with this.
