I have now finally installed the full suite for my Smart Tank 7602, no thanks to HP.  Trying to set up scan to PC and the interface is different to all other HP PC's I have had. Instead of simply 'enabling' scan to PC, it asks me to create a newtwork folder. in that process it defines username and password. I think the user name is the windows username but which password are they asking for?  The password to start my PC does not work, the password for the PC does not work (BTW, they sometimes call passwords PIN's and vice versa just to confuse the users.   It is ridiculously tedious. Reminds me of the early days of PC's where not drivers were in conflict and one had to debug every step of the way.  Shame.

 

Bottom line, what does HP mean by password in relation with the username to allow me to create this  network folder?  I am almost prepared to send this printer flying from the window and switch so anyone but HP.
