Product: HP office jet pro 8025e

I recently updated to a Windows 11 laptop from a Windows 7 professional laptop. Now I have to open up the stupid HP app just to get the printer to scan a document to the laptop, I never had to do that with the Windows 7 laptop. This process to me seems to be a big waste of time, which I don’t have. There has to be a better way (like before with the Windows 7 operating system.
