I am trying to install an HP Laserjet 1320 printer on a new Windows 11 computer. I saw some posts on this forum and followed them about installing the HP Universal driver PCL 5 . Here is the instructions I followed from Elohi_NR - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/I-want-to-download-driver-for-HP-Laserj... -
Try the following solution:
- Download and then run (UPD PCL 5):
- This driver if the Windows version is 64-bit.
- This driver if the Windows version is 32-bit.
- Select the Traditional Mode, and then click on Next.
- Select the Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, and then click Next.
- Click the Use an existing port drop-down list and select DOT4_001: (HP Print Device), then click Next.
- Under Printers, select HP Universal Printing PCL 5, and then click Next.
- The Printer name field, type HP LaserJet 1320 series, and then click Next.
- Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
- Try to print.
My problem is when I get to the part of choosing an existing port, I do not see the option of DOT4_001: (HP Print Device). Here is what is displayed:
LPT1: (Printer Port)
LPT2: (Printer Port)
LPT3: (Printer Port)
COM1: (Serial Port)
COM2: (Serial Port)
COM3: (Serial Port)
COM4: (Serial Port)
FILE: (Print to File)
nul: (Local Port)
PORTPROMPT: (Local Port)
Please let me know if you have a suggestion or solution. Thanks.
