I have an Officejet Pro 8500 which I have been using as a wireless printer on Windows 7 for years. I recently had to replace my old computer with a new Windows 11 desktop. When I tried to add the 8500 wirelessly, I was unsuccessful. I eventually got the printer connected to my wireless network with a valid IP address, but Windows would not allow me to add the printer.
Which brings me to asking the following question:
Is the HP Officejet Pro 8500 supported on Windows 11?
It is not listed on the HP website as a supported Windows 11 printer, but before buying a newer printer I wanted to be as sure as I could be that the old printer is not supported but that it just won't work (which is not exactly the same thing).
So could one of the forum gurus answer both the "Is it supported" question, but provide a workaround that would allow me to get the Windows 11 to allow me to add it? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
