OMEN by HP - 17t-an100 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had an OMEN 17t-an100 CTO laptop for a number of years and now it needs its second battery replacement. The first time I was able to buy one from HP but they no longer carry them (too old, I guess). What they sent me before - that worked perfectly - was Part Number: 922977-855, Assembly-battery 8C 86Whr 3.0Ah LI FM with a 17-pin connector. At the time, they indicated there were two capacities available: an 8 cell 82 WHr 2.8 AH Li-ion part # 922976-855, and, an 8 cell 82 WHr 3.0 AH Li-ion part # 922977-855. They said I needed this last one (977)  which they sent and it worked great. I would really like to buy my new replacement from Amazon (due to price, free shipping, and good return policies) but almost all of the ones I find listed there (on a search of "922977-855" seem to say they are compatible with both 922977-855 and also 922976-855 (which I thought was the smaller capacity version). The only ones that seem to ONLY list compatibility with  922977-855 are either no longer available or, there is one at https://www.amazon.com/HWW-Compatible-HSTNN-LB8B-922753-421-922977-855/dp/B07KN17K3S, but it has a terrible rating. Another one at https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-17-AN013TX-17-AN014TX-17-AN014NG-HSTNN-LB8A/dp/B085PRG1MH/ seems to have the same specs and a great rating - but it says it is compatible with both the 922977-855 and also 922976-855. So, any suggestions? Has battery technology advanced in the last few years such that these two models are now interchangeable if they both have the 17-pin connector? I would really appreciate your thoughts here.
