Elitebook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am the proud owner of an Elitebook 8460p, and have enjoyed upgrading it as much as I can recently.  I've got 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and would very much like to upgrade my CPU to an i7-2860QM, which I can see in the Maintenance and Service Guide is compatible.

The internet is telling me that before I upgrade the CPU, I should make sure I have the latest BIOS available.  I have BIOS ver. F.08 26 August 2011 currently so thought this could do with updating.

Going onto the HP website I can see that updates are only available up to Windows 8.  I have Windows 10.  Selecting Windows 8 anyway, I can see that BIOS ver. F.67 28 February 2018 is the most recent update available.

Am I able to download this BIOS update compatible with Windows 8 even though I am using Windows 10?  This is for the purpose of upgrading my CPU, but I am told that having the latest BIOS is a good thing anyway.

Thank you
