HP Recommended

I just purchased the HP Office Jet Pro 9120e. Installation went find, but right away I started having problems with the paper tray. It doesn't have a way to lock the tray to hold 8.5x11 paper. It does seem to lock for 8.5x14. Since it doesn't lock, it causes one of three problems - either multiple pages go through, or it says the paper tray is empty, or it says the paper tray is open. I went online to this forum to see if I was doing something wrong and found the same issues being reported at least as far back as June 2022 with another model. Apparently, they update the electronics, but continue with the same lousy paper tray. I called HP and eventually spoke with a supervisor. I was told he recognized that earlier models were better. He suggested I purchase a laser jet for about $150 more. 

I'd read that HP closed and reorganized under new management/ownership. Apparently not for the better as I've always has good luck with HP in the past.
