I have a defective Envy 17t-cr100. As described previously on this board, Wi-Fi completely disappears. My machine is a year out of warranty, but the issue has recured probably 7 or 8 times starting shortly after purchase. HP support has the case documentation under my phone number and my wife's. Long hours spend troubleshooting. She normally uses this notebook for work. In prior instances, HP support was able to get the wireless adapter working. This time, however, nothing worked. I bought Smart Friend support because the warranty is expired. Ended up doing a complete Windows re-install from a thumb drive -- then no option when setup got to the network connection page. I think there used to be more mentions of the trouble in this forum. There's a fairly recent entry from 2025. A couple of support agents tried to put me through to the warranty department to make my case, but the call dropped or disconnected. Other agents refused, telling me they're prohibited from doing so. This is apparently a known defect -- probably an intermittent wifi adapter card. I'm hoping this board is monitored by HP personnel empowered to help customers for repair or credit when a defect is known and documented.
