Hello
I have been trying for almost two weeks to contact HP support but since I cannot register my product in my profile or through the AI chat, I am stuck.
First : The turn on/off button of the computer doesn't always work. I do not know what to do about that since I received the product only a month ago and I don't even use it everyday.
Second : I tried to play a game and received an error message saying 'Could not initialize graphics device.'. I tried multiple times to play, trying to update the graphics device from the computer but still didn't work. I am not sure if I can uninstall/install back ( and I don't really know how).
At some point, a crash dump was created and apparently, I have to contact the development team but since I cannot speak to a real human, only AI, here I am also stuck since I do not know where to send it.
Can anyone help me, please. I am desperate at this point... Thanks

Hi @Fcthwi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I’m truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you've experienced — both with your new HP computer and the challenges in contacting support. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially with a new device, and I’m here to assist you step by step.
Issue 1: Power Button Not Working Reliably
🔧 What to try:
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the PC completely.
- Unplug the power cable.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug it back in and try turning it on.
- Update BIOS:
- Visit the Official HP® Support and enter your product name or serial number.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update.
Issue 2: “Could Not Initialize Graphics Device” Error
This usually means:
- The graphics driver is missing or corrupted.
- The game is trying to use a GPU that isn’t available or supported.
🔧 What to try:
- Update Graphics Drivers:
- Go to Official HP® Support.
- Enter your product name and download the latest graphics driver (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA, depending on your model).
- Reinstall Graphics Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your GPU and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
