I recently purchased an OmniBook 7.  There are no faults with it and I am happy with it.   However, whenever I open the machine, whether or not it was powered off or just in sleep mode, I get a notification saying  "Enable Immersive Movies with Camera access".   I have no idea what this means, but if I press either of the two available options (one of which is Dismiss), the machine opens an unrecongnisable screen which doesn't seem to do anything at all.

I don't want this message, or indeed Immersive Movies, whatever they are.  Does anyone have any idea how I can prevent this annoying message from appearing?   Thanks.

Hi @Folksinger

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m sorry this unwanted message keeps interrupting you—it’s frustrating when a new machine feels perfect except for a persistent notification. I appreciate that you’ve already tried interacting with the options and noticed the screen doesn’t do anything useful.

Let’s go through steps to stop the “Enable Immersive Movies with Camera access” prompt from appearing:

Step 1: Check Startup Apps

  1. On Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Select the Startup tab.
  3. Look for any entries related to “Immersive Movies” or camera‑related HP software.
  4. Right‑click and choose Disable.
  5. Restart the computer and check if the notification appears again.

Step 2: Review Notifications Settings

  1. Open Settings > System > Notifications.
  2. Scroll through the list of apps sending notifications.
  3. Turn off notifications for any app referencing “Immersive Movies” or camera access.
  4. Close Settings and test by waking the computer from sleep.

Step 3: Check HP Software

  1. Open the HP App on your computer.
  2. Go to Settings or Preferences.
  3. Look for features related to multimedia or camera enhancements.
  4. Disable any option tied to immersive or movie experiences.

Step 4: Remove or Modify the Application

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  2. Search for “Immersive Movies” or similar HP multimedia software.
  3. If found, select Uninstall.
  4. Restart the computer to confirm the message no longer appears.

Step 5: Update Drivers and Software

  1. Visit the HP support page for your OmniBook 7: HP OmniBook 7 Drivers and Software.
  2. Download and install the latest drivers and updates.
  3. Restart the computer after installation.

By disabling startup entries, turning off notifications, and removing or updating the related software, you should be able to prevent the message from appearing and enjoy a smoother experience with your OmniBook 7.

I bought the same system and have the same problem. The above steps didn't work. Does anyone have a solution? I CAN turn off ALL HP notifications, but that would defeat the purpose.

Didn't work for me either, and I have to say that the instructions provided seem somewhat over-complicated.  Anyone else have any other ideas?

Hello @Folksinger @DavidInVirginia @

Welcome to the HP community.

I searched for this internally and worked with a colleague from the Software RnD Team, and this is a known issue and has been addressed.

Please open the Microsoft Store and check for Updates

The HP App should be one of these updates. Install this, and it should address the issue

Thank you, Steffen, for your help.

I'm already running the latest version (51.52550.13131), so the Microsoft Store did not list the HP app among the available updates.  However, I did search for the app on the store and verified that the version and release date are what I have installed.

You might notice on Reddit that dozens of people have this same problem, and that no one has a solution except to turn off all HP notifications.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions!  Thank you!

Hello @DavidInVirginia

The version should be 52.52602.670.0 based on my internal conversation.

Could you check this again tomorrow, maybe?

Regards

Steffen
