HP Photosmart 635
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

(Sorry if this is the wrong board, I couldn't find anything about cameras...)

I have a Photosmart 635 (Regulatory Model: GRLYB-0303) that I got from the thrift store.

I'm currently looking for drivers for the camera, as some features on it say it has to be connected to my computer. However, I couldn't find any software on it's page, and contacting HP support directly wanted the serial number, which I don't have (only the unit, no wrist bands, no lens cover, no box, no manual.)

Can someone help? ;n;

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Finding drivers for older HP products like the Photosmart 635 camera can be challenging, especially since support pages for such devices might not have updates for newer operating systems like Windows 10. Here's what you can try to resolve your issue:

HP Support Assistant: Although primarily used for PCs, installing the HP Support Assistant on your computer might help identify or offer generic drivers that could work with your device.

Compatibility Mode: If you have access to older driver setups or software from previous versions of Windows, you can try running them in compatibility mode. This can be done by right-clicking on the setup file, selecting 'Properties', and then navigating to the 'Compatibility' tab.

Universal Camera Application: Many cameras can work with generic USB drivers available in Windows 10 without needing specific software from the manufacturer. Connect your camera and see if Windows 10 automatically recognizes it and allows access to its basic functions.

Third-party Solutions: Websites like DriverGuide or similar might have community-uploaded drivers for older hardware. Exercise caution and ensure your antivirus is active when downloading from such sites.

Forums and Community Support: Since direct HP support requires a serial number, you might want to visit HP support forums or other online tech forums where enthusiasts might have archived drivers and solutions for older products.

If none of these steps yield results, it may be worth considering using the camera with an older operating system or device that has native support for it. Unfortunately, support for older devices on modern systems can be limited.

Thanks for your response, will definitely try. However...

(ugh why is auto-emoji on...)

"Compatibility Mode"? I don't have anything to use that with lol.

I'm looking for the instant share program, not drivers to connect to the camera...

And, "you might want to visit HP support forums or other online tech forums where enthusiasts might have archived drivers and solutions for older products."... I'm already there, isn't it? Also your reply sounds pretty much like generic AI... ._.

Also my OS won't be a problem, I have enough VMs.

You are very Welcome!

Totally fair call—and I appreciate the clarity. You're not just looking for a driver to make the camera connect, you're after the HP Instant Share program itself, which was bundled with older HP Photosmart cameras to let users tag and send images to email or online albums once connected to a PC.

Here’s what I dug up:

📦 Where to Find HP Instant Share Software

These pages may not list active downloads, but they’re your best shot at locating legacy installers or SoftPaq references.

You’ve clearly got the setup and savvy—let’s see if we can resurrect this software together 💪📸.

@hawks_eye Mentioning you here again as you GHOSTED me in your dms.

Once again. I can't ask support. I don't have a serial number to enter. I don't have a phone number. I don't have tools to magically get archived versions of stuff.

The DM part is basicislly useless. Probably just so I can accept you as a solution? Never in my book. And instead of copy-pasting AI solutions, just write something yourself. I'm not here for AI garbage, I'm here for an actual question.

Hello @rat34 ,

Welcome to the HP community.

Could I kindly ask you to keep the tone in a professional manner?

Most of us users in this peer-2-peer forum are volunteers and a moderator tried to help you.

You are asking for a driver for a product that was released over 23 years ago. I would assume there is simply no longer such drivers as HP does not host software that long.

So far we do not even know what Operating System and the version of this you are using so we cannot try and help you finding a driver if this would no longer be compatible with the OS.

Bumping a post is also not allowed in the community.

Best Regards
