What is the model of your envy? I'm asking this because the latest bios version i have with my HP Envy 2019 is F.08.

By the way, the computer shows 4.15 hours at full charge and then shows 4 hours at 80% again. seems like a bios issue honestly. And I can say the battery lasts upto about 6 or 7 hours but I never saw it as remaining time.

you could also try a 3rd party software like batterycare. values vary on that.

my model is the 13-aq0003na, may I ask what model yours is?

Being the compulsive updater I am, I updated my BIOS to F.10. I believe it was running F.08 before hand, unfortunately I can't seem to reflash the BIOS with F.08 HP have said they would need to remove the motherboard to do this and that I better off just getting a replacement (2nd replacement)

Perhaps it is a BOIS issue?

Mine is 13-aq1002nt.

Most likely it is a BIOS issue. The other possibility is maybe some component consumes more power than expected (perhaps the processor?). Intel has an utility called extreme tuning. You can try to limit the power usage of the processor using that tool. It doesn't support 10th gen processors yet so I didn't have a chance to try that.

I've tried to install intel's tuning utility but it says that it is not compatible, don't suppose you know a way around this?

regardless I will ask for an exchange and then not update the BIOS

Been having precisely the same issues as everyone else in this thread. I have an ENVY 13-ah0xxx running Intel 17 8th gen, 8 gb ram, 256 gb ssd. My usage has been around light (multiple chrome tabs, microsoft word, spotify opened) and I get just under 4 hours of battery life. Have went through the proper tests, my battery tests at 100%..... its too late to return this laptop (had it for just over a year now), but I would love to know if anyone has improved battery performance on this laptop.....

Hi all,

So to give you an update, I'm on my 3rd laptop now aq0003na and it all seems to be fine 7-8 hours of light use. I think it's the BIOS that's causing the issue, not sure why HP haven't updated and fixed it. Turns out that it ships with F.09 (which can't be found on their site) I won't be updating mine as it's working nicely.

F.10 seems to be problematic.

Hey James,

Is there anything I can do to get my laptop to act like yours (7-8 hours of life)? I am not particularly savvy on the bios and whatever all that means so any help or tips to change this or any other components that may improve battery life would be much appreciated.

I'll try my best to help, to find out the BIOS go to the HP Command Centre and under system information it should give you a BIOS version, yours is a different model laptop to mine so it might run a different BIOS anyway but it would be interesting to see anyway.

The latest BIOS can be found on the support section of HP's site HOWEVER this is what seemed to be problematic for me so for anyone else out there, don't update it unless there's an issue.

Just to cover off the basics, have you got better battery/battery saver active and are doing only light tasks?

I’m facing the same problem on the Envy 13 (2019) can you please PM me the solution as well?
