Dear friends,

Available the next error message appeared: "HP accelerometer doesn't work on this version on windows. An updated app may be available."

I deleted HP 3D DriveGuard and accelerometer driver, rebooted and downloaded and installed HP 3D DriveGuard (sp71714.exe) from suport again, but this doesn't helped. What should I do to fix my problem?

Thanks.

Hi:

The only way I have been able to help folks get that accelerometer to install is to manually install the XP 64 bit driver as follows...

Start by deleting the W10 driver, and software again.

Try and get back to where the accelerometer is listed as an unknown device.

Download and save this driver but do not run it.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58201.exe

Download and install this free file utility.  The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

https://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-zip, right click on the XP 3D driveguard driver file you saved.

Select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp58201).

After the driver folder is created, go to the device manager, click on the problem accelerometer device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC and the error message should be gone.

As you found out, the W10 driver does not work, and there is no way you can make it work.

You asked what you can do to fix the problem, and I provided what I think are simple instructions to fix it.

If you manually install the XP driver as I explained, it will install the accelerometer, and you won't get the error message.

You have two options...follow my instructions to install the accelerometer using the XP x64 driver, or live with the error.

Here are discussions where forum members with the same accelerometer hardware version followed my instructions to use the XP driver, and it worked just fine for them...one has the exact same model PC as yours.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what to do about that.
