Probook 655 G1 Bios Password reset

Hi guys,

I would like to buy a HP Probook 655 G1 laptop, but the seller told me that it has an administrator password set. He is a reseller, the laptop came from some norwegian city hall. Can I reset the admin password if I follow this guide:

I contacted HP before, to reset the admin password for another HP Probook 650 G1 bought by me from a store (that had the admin password set, but I could access the rest of the bios settings). HP contacted me and told me how to reset the password, but it was way to complicated (not like in the above link) and I didn't want to risk anything (the HP support people send me a file and instructions). I'm not really a novice with computers, but it was too strange of a process for me and I thought it was risky to try the reset myself.

I had to ship the laptop to the store where they reset the password for me - I think the just upgraded the bios.

You will have to contact HP technical support for assistance with obtaining a SMC.bin file for your PC.
