I have the same issue. I just bought an HP 328R8AA and a warranty check said that it started last year but I just unboxed it yesterday. I went into many loops trying to get to a human being. So please DM me contact info.

this may not be the best forum for this post as the "HP 328R8AA" is a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2460 which is not a business or workstation class system

the poster needs to describe, how he has contacted hp and the region/country where he is if you are in the USA use this link and click on the contact us button

HP has a few support related numbers, so rather than list numbers you may have already tried i would like to narrow down the ones not yet tried

also systems bought from 3rd party sellers will not have a HP factory warranty

only systems bought directly from HP or a HP authorised seller qualify for the HP factory warranty all other non HP sellers will have their own warranties which are covered by the non HP authorised seller

That page does not allow me to contact HP - I get caught in a loop with no way to ask about the warranty.  A warranty check shows it's a "Factory warranty" and further starting last year . I chose this area as the best one I could find. Maybe someone can say what a "Factory warranty" covers and what it means, Product 328J5AA also comes up and why we have "J5" AND "R8" both show up.

Hi @madstopfern,

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

After trying ChatGPT which failed to provide anything useful, I searched for "HP Customer Support Phone Number" and found: 800-407-4005 8 AM - 8 PM (ET), Monday-Friday. I called that number and after guessing my way through the various prompts reached a support rep.

I explained the problem and granted the HP support person access to the computer where the invoice was located. He took a screen shot of the invoice and updated the official record. I have an email from him that the issue has been resolved and the warranty dates corrected. Hopefully support.hp.com warranty check dates will be updated by tomorrow otherwise I guess I'll need to follow up.

Once support.hp.com is updated I'll post that here.

In case someone else runs into the same issue, an update: I called the next day and was told the change takes two days to be in effect. After two days I called and was told it takes SIX days. I sincerely hope that the last person I spoke with is accurate.

I want to be polite and accommodating but my patience is at an end. I bought the computer to get my wife up and running fast for her work not caring what label HP put on it and not thinking it could possibly make any difference. Boy was I wrong.

Hi @madstopfern,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As you have already tried the troubleshooting steps, this could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.

This issue might require one on one interaction over the phone to fix it.
