Hi,

After bios update to latest version (02.46 Rev.A) I reciving on every boot error 512-rear chassis fan not detected.
So, the problem is definitely with bios, anybody have similar problem?

Ok, It looks that HP find solutions. The problem was with bad bios file (version 2.46). First HP remove version 2.46 from website and today I saw new version 2.47. HP in this case automaticly closed my warranty ticket. Everything is ok with new file.

Yes I have the same issue. 400G2 Prodesk
Can't seem to get the older version of BIOS back either.
I read I should hold the windows and B keys down when switching on - but nothing happens goes straight to beep 512 Rear fan error.
Also I tried to see if I could reload a previous version of BIOS but according to the HP website ...
Added improved Security Updates.
*** ALERT ***
This release improved Security Updates implementation. HP strongly recommends promptly
transitioning to this BIOS version. Due to security changes, after this BIOS
update has been installed, previous BIOS versions cannot be reinstalled.
So you cant go back to the old version - and the new version doesnt work. Nice one HP.

Yester was HP Specialist to find solution but he didn't find any solution. He changed systemboard and new system board had little older bios 2.45. After replacement HP Specialis update bios to 2.46 and after update... error....
512-rear fan not connected lol
He tried to come back to previous bios but without success. There is no chance to recover old bios.
Today I waiting one more time for hp specialist and for another board.
As I said I before I have many of this computers so if hp couldn't find solution in their own crappy software they will be replace systemboards everyday.

Today will be one more time HP Specialist to replaced another systemboard. When I talk with him by a phone he said that problem is escalated and he kindly ask to do not make bios updates for now. All my warranty tickets are opened and escalated.
If I didn'r receive and information for a week I will make updates bios and one more time make phone call to HP Specialist to replace another boards lol
As I said before I'm so angry for this situation that I will regulary will have replacing board. God bless that I have hp onsite carpack.

Thanks for the update BigMaras. I hope HP get to the solution soon.
The situation you had with the HP engineer is consistent with what I found. New bios has a security feature that prevents going back to old bios.
New Bios seems to be setup for G1 models - ie. for rear fans and not for G2 no fans.
HP just need to fix the bios or start sendiing out free fans!
