@Paul_Tikkanen, just an fyi:
The eBay order I placed for what I thought was an/or equivalent of the "Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # L35282-005" came in and installed. Downloaded & installed its corresponding Intel driver, and...
Zip. Nada. As in: the HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF didn't even see or register it.
After this fiasco, zooming in closer, and lo and behold: what I got in the mail was an Intel "AX201NGW" -see pic.
A quick internet search provided the answer why it didn't work: "The main difference between the two [AX201 and AX200] is that the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 is a CRF module that uses the Intel proprietary interface, and thus can only be used with select Intel chipsets and platforms." (emphasis added.)
Link: What is the difference between the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Intel...
It's not even worth my time to return this WLAN module. Come to think of it, this card will feel right at home with my ever-growing never-to-be-used-again computer parts & bits collection.
This dud ain't gonna stop me, though.
I will find and procure a doggone Intel AX200 and get it to work.
Kind Regards,

Sorry they sent you the wrong card.
Yeah, you may as well hang onto it, because it would probably work in a newer PC that has an Intel 8th gen core processor and supported chipset, or newer. That was the minimum processor series required to support a CRF wifi card.
Hopefully, the second time around will be the charm.

Dear Forum,
The Asus GeForce RTX 3080 12GB-OC Edition came in and installed.
But prior to this installation, uninstalled AMD software and in order to remove any residual AMD drivers etc. ran the freeware DDU utility tool version 18.0.4.8 from here: https://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/17830/
This stylistic stark all-metal, hefty, 12GB GDDR6X, 1815 MHz OC clocked, Digital Max Resolution 7680 x 4320, 350+ watt TDP, Asus eGPU is quite impressive. It is powered by 2 x 8-pin PCIe power cables, it's very quiet, and hardly breaks a sweat, so to speak. Then again, I'm taking it easy with OC-ing for now. Even so, this graphics card handily obliterated the global competition in the HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF bench marking, including my now second place RX 6600 XT and fourth place RX 5500 entries: UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF Compatible Components
The choice of graphics software was between GeForce Experience from here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/ or Asus' "GPU Tweak III" from here: https://www.asus.com/campaign/GPU-Tweak-III/
Asus' description of the Tweak software, and I quote: "ASUS GPU Tweak enables complete control over 3D graphics performance and monitoring. New features and UI designs from our enthusiastic community are continually added through frequent updates. The result is an extremely intuitive and capable utility."
In the interim, decided to play it safe, and installed GeForce Experience:
Also, this GPU has programmable RGB which can be controlled through the freeware "Armoury Crate" utility tool found here: ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 OC Edition 12GB GDDR6X | Graphics Card | ASUS Global
Anyway, moving on: the very first UserBenchMark [dot] com bench-marking was exceedingly impressive -broke UserBenchMark's "UFO" performance ceilings (plural) all right. Let these screen shots speak for themselves:

It appears that discussions regarding compatible WLAN/network/Wi-Fi cards are not going away any time soon!
Back to the Intel AX200NGW Dual-Band Wi-Fi M.2 module you recommended -found the best deal online via Walmart, of all places.

That's a good deal!
What I can't see is the part number (SPS #) on the card you bought.
If your PC is Intel vPro certified, I guess it shouldn't matter if you got the non-vPro or vPro card.
But if your PC is non-vPro, a vPro wifi card is not going to work.

The "NV" in the products description "Intel AX200.NGWG.NV WI-FI 6 AX200 M.2 2230 Network Card" stands for "No vPro".
Intel's description of this card: "NETWORK AX200.NGWG.NV WI-FI 6 AX2002230 2X2 AX+BT NO VPRO RETAIL".
I wouldn't need vPro as a home user anyway as this function is mostly business focused, quote: "The Intel vPro® platform is a set of hardware and technologies used to build business computing endpoints with premium performance, built-in security, modern manageability and platform stability."
Like you said, it should function just fine as a non-vPro enabled Wi-Fi/Bluetooth M.2 module.
Hopefully the Seller will send me the "NV" version of the AX200...

Esteemed Forum,
Returning to substantially improving internal desktop cooling. High performance means more heat, so the air needs to keep moving a heck of lot better than the standard cooling configuration would allow. I am going to or already have fitted these HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF cooling upgrades:
1.) Adding a 50x50x15mm 2.4 watt Front Panel Cooling Fan:
2.) Adding a 50x50x10mm 1.44 watt Rear-Panel Cooling Fan:
Since these fans are still in transit and thus not installed yet, but will be fitted here approximately:
3.) Replacing the CPU heat sink's "Iceberg Thermal IceGALE Xtra 80mm PWM High Performance Case Fan" I had installed earlier. This 1.44 watt 37 CFM rated fan doesn't quite cool the Intel i7-7700K as much as I would like to. It will be replaced with a significantly higher performance 5.0 watt 65 CFM "GDSTIME 80mm PWM Fan, High Speed 12V 4PIN 80mm x 25mm CPU Cooler Fan":
4.) Added a sturdy, meshed metal surface 3-fan (118mm each) Cooling Pad Stand:
Kind Regards,

Just got this AX200 "NV" edition wireless card delivered.
Let's see how this card compares with my USB network card.

And the third time was the charm -the Intel AX200NGWG-NV Wi-Fi 6 M.2 2230 Network Card is working well: strong signal reception and decent speeds (258/258 Mbps). Not as fast as my 3.0 USB Realtek 8812BU network dongle (866/866 Mbps), but fast enough that it really doesn't matter.

Hi:
The AX link speed seeems awful low.
While the AC card has the max link speed possible, the AX card should be at least that much if not more.
Do you have a Wifi 6 (AX) router?
Have you enabled the 160 Mhz channel?
Below is the connection speed for the intel AX 200 in my Dell Optiplex 7050 MT (basically the same PC as the 800 G3).
My router is on the second floor of the house and this PC is in my basement.
