Guest Post: Spreading joy to my local hospital through HP's Product Loan Program
I have had the great chance to have been an HP Expert on the HP Support Forums since May 2013.
Being part of the HP Experts Program and an active member of the HP Support Forum has been a very good and positive experience. This brings me the pleasure of helping end users solve their issues. I can keep in touch with latest trends in commercial and consumer IT.
The chance to know and meet real Experts, real HP employees, and HP insiders (who are also friendly, helpful, and real pros) is a unique opportunity which should not be underestimated, in my opinion. Just like fellow Expert @old_geekster mentioned in his guest post last year – in the HP Expert community, there is a warm feeling like we are extended family.
One of the privileges that the HP Experts Program offers is access to the latest technology directly from HP through their Product Loan Program, which loans out the latest HP technology to the most active members of the community.
The Product Loan Program allows first-hand access to HP's latest products. Experts can choose between desktops, notebooks, tablets, and printers. By using them for about a year, I have real world experience with latest HP technologies, as well as tech components and software. Therefore, I can better help members who are having issues.
During the 2016 cycle of the program, I selected 2 business class products – the HP Elitebook 820 G2 notebook and HP ElitePad 1000 G2 tablet. Using the products is simply amazing – both are top notch in their categories and I never had a single issue.
However, the best part of this is that after using them for about a year, you have the unique chance to keep them walking... and benefit your local community by donating the products to charity.
I chose to donate my products to SBALDOHZ – a state-owned hospital serving the public interest, specialized in treating children with oncohematological diseases. It is located in Sofia, Bulgaria. The hospital is famous locally because they were the first hospital in the country to complete a stem cell transplantation and bone marrow transplantation in 1997, and they continuing to do so. I chose them because real medical professionals work there and they simply deserve using the latest technology. If you know Dr. House's team – this is my local version. Probably better
Even though I used the loan products heavily [really, heavily, daily], I did my best and took good care of the tablet and the notebook. The looks on the recipients' faces when they receive like-new computers makes you feel great. They don't usually receive products that are new or like-new. Here are few photos of the hospital and the presentation:
HP 820 G2 is a business class notebook. I really enjoyed it – it has everything one tech-savvy user or an everyday home user may need or dream of.
HP 1000 G2 professional tablet is a next generation business class tablet which can be used as a portable PC with the appropriate accessories (if needed). What I liked here is the fact it was really light and had a magnificent camera which took one of the best pictures. Recently, I returned from a vacation in Madrid and Vienna – 1000 G2 was my first mate outside (taking videos/pictures and searching the internet for local info). Like a typical business class device, it also has lots of business-oriented features for usability, mobility and extra-security.
There is no way that I can show you how these products performed; you simply have to experience it for yourself. Honestly, HP is one of the best and these products definitely added to my expertise and experience. This year for the 2017 cycle, I choose two notebooks/netbooks: one home user device – the HP Stream 11, and another business class portable notebook – the HP ProBook 11, which will enhance my experience with both consumer and commercial devices.
I am grateful to HP for the great opportunity of being part of the Expert community.
THANK YOU, HP! You rock!
