Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am trying to run a Designjet 800ps without using the formatter. It is displaying the 5:10 error and this model is old and they are no longer selling the replacement formatters for this machine. To avoid having to deal with refurbishing I found a thread that said if you remove the formatter, the machine will work just like a 500 model, but you'll need to install the 500 driver. When I try to download the PCL3 driver from the HP website it downloads and then asks me to unzip the folder but after unzipping none of the files will run/install the driver.

after you unzip it to a directory, the go to printer property....advance ... update driver .. have disck.... browse  >>> to the directory of unzip driver...  pick  printer size....(( steps might be differents from Windos 7 )

with dj500 pcl driver, printer prints faster & better....
