I have an HP DesignJet Z5600 printer. The screen shows the message: "Restart. If problem persists, call HP."  I've restarted and the message still comes up.  I've also unplugged and plugged back in and it still comes up.  Does anyone know what causes this?

Any numeric message? Does the printer stop at a certain point during the initialization or does it reach the end of start up and then post the message? The more detail you can provide may make it possible to narrow this down for you.

There is no numeric message.  The message that I showed was the entire message.  It seems like it reaches the end of start up and then posts the message.  Also, this is a network printer--on a network.  I've disconnected the network cable and the problem still exists.

On the formatter where the network cable connects there are 3 leds. Please post the status of those when the error is on the screen

The error appears after there are 3 LED's lit up.  One of them starts flashing--the one closest to the control screen.

Please clarify based on the picture as these lights are on the back and hard to say which one is closer to the control panel.

The LED lights are three across.  If you are in front of the printer, the LED light that is flashing is the one furthest to the right.

If you are behind the printer (looking at the lights), the one flashing would be the one furthest to the left.

I just saw the identifiers in your picture.  It is number "I"

Thanks for the chart.  I see that it says that when that light is flashing to reseat the formatter.  I don't know what that means.  It also says Disk Drive and it gives a link that I can't click on.  It also shows to replace the cables with an interconnect PCA.  I don't know what that means and I can't click on the link.  ?
