Just to clarify:  #1 is flashing.  What is the status of II and III?  On or off?

 

As you can see on the chart, it makes a difference in the troubleshooting.

 

To reseat the formatter, loosen the two screws you see on each side of the formatter board (the thing with the flashing light(s) and the USB outlet)  After they're loose, grasp the edge of the lip and lift straight up.  It may take a little pressure.  Don't rock it back and forth, just pull straight up.  When it's out, you'll see the PCB and the hard drive.  Reseat by reversing actions.  Be sure it's going back in the same way it came out.  Take a picture before you remove it, if you need to.

I tried reseating the formatter today and I am still getting the same message.  ?
