I haven't altered anything but I wonder if it has anything to do with the number of paper sizes I have loaded. I don't know how to delete a paper size.

I found that the IP address was different on my PC. So it worked when I changed it to correspond to the HP. How can that happen? Anyway back to normal for now.

Hi,

 

Thanks for contacting with HP Support Forum.

 

Please correctly installed the driver from below link:

 

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-designjet-z5400-postscript-printer/5396416

 

If you previously installed the driver please uninstalled it and restart the PC/Laptop then installed new drive.

If you aaren't maintain DHCP base IP, Please set the static IP if your printer IP will not fix after restart the printer or PC/Laptop.

Otherwise you are facing the problem, continues.
