Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

HP DesignJet T2600 not cutting individual document on roll.

Documents are printing continuously on roll.

Plotter settings "cut" is on.

Also advanced document print properties set to cut.

Help! (Please.)

There should be some demo prints you can access from the front panel on the printer.  Try printing one of these and see if it cuts the print off when finished.  This will help narrow down the problem; either the cutter isn't working correctly or the software on the computer needs updating.  If it prints and cuts the demo then we'll look at the driver/software/firmware next for the problem.  Let us know.

Hello D Hook,

Can cut manually with knife icon top right front panel.

Also, printed paper usage report which cuts automatically.

Thanks.

Ok.  So the printer will cut an internal print you made so the cutter is functioning, yes?

I would look through your paper settings again on your computer.  Did it cut ok previously?  If so, what's changed since then?  New operating system or update?  New computer?  New program you're using?

If you can't nail down whatever change has been made since the problem presented itself, I think I'd take a shot at reloading the driver, maybe the one from this HP website for whatever OS your using.  Sometimes Windows 10 will do an update that will make problems for the driver.  You can get driver updates and firmware updates here:

Let us know what happens.

Updated to new firmware dated 3-1-2022 but did not solve problem.

Still does not cut automatically, manual only.

A few days ago fifty D size drawings were sent to this network plotter and printed on one continuous roll, 100' long.

This unwieldy mess had to be cut from the roll on the floor one by one.

HP's products are questionable, buyer beware.

Can you tell us how you're work station is connected to the printer?  Is it connected directly?  Wireless or by company server?  It sounds like you have more than one workstation connected to the printer.  Is that correct?

When exactly do you recall the last time it made a cut as it should have?  Before the firmware or after the firmware upgrade?  If it's on a server, have there been changes to the server at all?

Also, do you know which driver is loaded for your printer?

Hopefully the more info you can provide the better answer you'll find here.

Connection to plotter is through company server. Many users access plotter through company network. It was not cutting properly before or after yesterday's firmware update. Plotter new, only in service about two months. Noticed fron start, cutting erratic. Now won't auto cut at all.  Not aware of any changes to server. An outside service, HP contractor, assembled and setup plotter, including drivers.

If it's that new, I'd have the tech come back out and check it for you.  Shouldn't be any charge for that.  I'm sure the tech can find the issue.  You should also be covered by the HP warranty for phone support.  Not sure about that because I've never had to use that part of a warranty.  Perhaps someone on this forum can give you some insight into that.

I'm sure it's an easy fix.  Call your vendor.
