Relocation of Plotter - But the Lift is too small

I have to relocate my HP DesignJet T2300 plotter but found that the lift is too small to get in.  What can I do?

However, we are in difficult situation:

1. The T2300 plotter has been in use for some time.

2. The width of the LIFT is shorter than the width of the plotter.

1.  Could the plotter be dismantled to shorten the width?  If yes, could you provide more information about that.

To provide answers to the following questions.

Not an ideal solution as the Width does not reduce much.

2. If the plotter cannot be dismantled and the plotter must be tilted, can any measure be taken to avoide ink from spilling over?

The printer should be shut down when in ready state so that the printheads are capped in the service station

Tilting has to be very minimal as you already specified that the unit has been in use for a while - There would be considerable amount of residual  ink in service station

The Service station is on the right Hand side of the printer take care to ensure that the ink does not spill over from service station which is on the right Hand side of the printer  .

Try to call HP Support and see whether an onsite visit can be Arranged for moving the printer.

We have run into this issue a couple of times. Usually we will remove the legs and then stand the plotter on end, making sure the right side which contains the service station is down.  At least if ink leaks it will not run all over the inside of the plotter and there is less stress on the carriage. Normally we will stand it on a blanket or cardboard to slide and in case of ink spill. We have never had an incident. The amount of space you would gain by removing the ends would be negligible.  Just move as fast as possible and avoid turning the printer up side down.
