Designjet T120

I am setting up a new Designjet T120.  I have followed the instructions as far as selecting the wired connection.  It then says "Cable not connected".  I've checked and used different cables and ports.  The Green LED on the printer network card is solid and the Orange is flashing, the same at the other end on the network switch.  Also If I try the Wireless connection instead it tells me that " wireless will not work with an ethernet cable connected to the printer......" so I think that proves it that the cable is connected.

I disconnected the Ethernet cable and ran the wireless setup.  This has worked and the firmware update has started.  This is all well and good but I would prefer to run the printer wired for a number of reasons.  Do I have a faulty printer or is this a known problem?

I would check the port on the computer closely and make sure no contacts are bent. If this is a new printer then I would engage HP tech support right away.
