I have a DesignJet T210 plotter and just replaced the M Hp 712 ink cartridge. I have a message on the screen that indicates I have a "Supply System Problem" for the M cartridge. I have removed the cartridge and cleaned the metal contact and replaced with the same problem. Any suggestions. I have also tried to clean the printhead but the plotter will not allow me to do so with the existing problem. Thank you in advance.

Is the ink cartridge still under warranty? Is the printer still under warranty? The print head? If any or all of these are still under warranty, since I don't have an answer for you, I would first suggest contacting HP customer service either by phone or chat and see what they say.

Having had a T120 and doing a quick Google search since your reply, I am reminded of a problem I had with my T120's print head. Have you removed the print head and examined its condition? The ink system in those printers is relatively simple. I found this related to the T120: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-designjet-t120-printer/5263073/document/c04525354 Maybe you can find a support page specific to your series printer. Certainly the manual will tell you how to remove the print head.
In my case with the T120, while my problem was different (I recall my printer was reporting an error on one color in the printhead), I ended up replacing the printhead and the printer worked like new. Of course, one always hopes the solution is simpler and less costly.
In my Google searches, I see your error is also described affecting other HP printers: While the tech may not be identical, the solution may be similar. Have you looked at some of those search results? Wish I could help more. Regards,
