The error occurs on both paper trays. The interesting thing is, if you insert a new full 150 foot paper roll all works fine.

When the roll is, let me say, about half empty, the error occours at every plot then. Printer prints two or three feet of paper then it stops, cuts and displays the error 39:11.

Firmware has been updated to 07.xxxx and I have activated the "Connection with Media core detection deactivation" in the Service Utilities menu but no luck so far.

Could it help to clean the encoder strip and the line sensor as I have read somewhere here regarding error 39:12?

What else could I check and do?

Have you tried putting tape on the ends to provide a tighter fit of the roll on the spindle?

There is a service kit with new springs that are supposed to eliminate this problem.

Thank you so much! One winding of tape was sufficient to solve the problem.

Thank you.

Does anyone here have a part number for this service kit? I've googled but can't find anything about it. Or should I buy a new spindle.

What kind of tape did you apply? Also any information on that Spring Kit?
